8 POINTS TO CONSIDER WHILE DESIGNING A COMPANY LOGO
DESIGNING A COMPANY LOGO
A great logo enables a brand or an IT Company to be instantly identified and to stand out. Your logo becomes a key attraction in this world of modernization, digitalization and cut-throat competition.
From drafting the logo onto papers to getting it printed on large billboards, there are few things that are very essential and you can’t afford to miss them. Being a Graphic Designer, you will to keep these in mind along the way.
RESEARCH THE BUSINESS
Doing proper and detailed research of the client’s business is a must before working on their logo. You will not be able to choose the right colors, font, etc for the logo unless and until you know the target customers. After all, you are designing for the client’s company and not for yourself.
PUT PEN TO PAPER
It might sound old-fashioned to you to put the ideas and designs on the paper first. It may consume a lot of time but trust us you will see that your drafts have improved a lot from the original idea.
AVOID FOLLOWING THE TRENDS
Everyone loves to follow the trends and to impress the audiences and the customers. But this should be avoided as trends usually tend to last for few months or say 1-2 years. But a logo is something that can’t be changed with the trends. So avoid following the trends.
MAKE A STATEMENT
Make a statement with your logo. A logo should be such that it speaks for itself and for the company/brand. Captivate the audience with visually appealing and a bold image that sells your product/service and leaves a long-lasting impression on the customer.
You all must have observed that logos which are simple strikes easily and are easy on the eyes whichever size they are in. Stay simple and clear from all the overcrowded designs and stand out with your logo’s simplicity.
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
Going mainstream is cool and all but thinking outside the box is required. This will not only make the logo unique but also very much recognizable. Example: Look at Apple’s logo- it is a great example, it's unique and memorable as their symbol is something that is completely different and not computer related.
CREATE FIRST IN BLACK AND WHITE
A very important aspect to consider. Your logo should be such which is equally impressive in black and white. There will be many instances where the logo would be printed without colors. Example- while printing in newspapers.
TEST IT ACROSS PLATFORMS
Before taking a final decision, test your logo on different platforms as the logo will appear on different online and physical platforms. So it might be possible that a logo looks impressive on printing paper but not on the front of a building. So testing is necessary.
Keep these points in mind while designing a company logo and you will not go wrong in any aspect. Similarly, while designing the company’s website you should consider certain points that would help your business grow. Always remember that your company/brand will be recognized by that logo, so just try to design such that creates a long lasting impact and is appealing to the eyes.
